MLB 2k10

Major League Baseball 2k10 is coming out soon for the 2010 MLB season. I don’t have much information about it, other than the fact that Evan Longoria of the Tampa Bay Rays is in the cover.

According to TGN, which is Total Gaming Network, it was announced at December 14th that Evan Longoria will be on the cover for the game.

“Throughout my career, I’ve taken great pride in my fielding and
defensive ability,” said Longoria.  “I’m pumped about the final cover
and sincerely appreciate all the dedicated fans who took time to weigh
in on their favorite image for Major League Baseball 2K10.”

The game comes out this March, and is available for the Nintendo Wii, DS, Playstation 3, and X Box 360.

Tampa Bay Rays dazzle Johan Santana, Mets.

First off, It’s been a while since I last blogged about the sports baseball world. Now I will discuss my thoughts about the Tampa Bay Rays against the New York Mets game on Saturday.

It looked like a pitchers’ duel between James Shield of the Tampa Bay Rays and Johan Santana of the New York Mets. The Mets took the first game 4-3 behind another stellar outing from Fernando Nieve. Brian Schneider hits a three run home run off Andy Sonnastine to give the Mets a boost to win the first game of the series.

Now about the pitchers’ duel game, it felt like it early, Ryan Church scores in the second inning via Omir Santos’ double off James Shields. It was just the three doubles that helped the Mets score one run.

The Tampa Bay Rays began pecking away Jason Bartlett scores after Gabe Kapler hits a double off Johan Santana in the fifth inning. In the seventh inning, Carlos Pena hits his 22nd home run of the year, a solo home run off Johan Santana. Ben Zobrist, hits a home run of his own in the ninth inning off Sean Green going to right field. The Mets had not had one hit, nor baserunner from the 2nd inning to the 9th inning. Carlos Beltran breaks that up with a single, but David Wright is struck out by JP Howell who earned the save and securing the win for James Shields, Johan Santana was the tough luck loser.

What a game that was.
